The brake system is one of the most important safety mechanisms your vehicle has. It is necessary to have it inspected regularly a minimum of every six months or roughly every 10,000 KMS to ensure proper performance.
Brakes feeling spongy or hard to press down on are two of the most common signs that your system needs servicing. In these cases, it is likely that air has gotten into the lines or that you are low on brake fluid. Other indicators include noises such as a squeal or grinding. Both signal your pads are worn and will likely need immediate service. Also, if your car pulls to one side, or if your steering wheel or brake pedal shakes when you apply the brake, your rotors may be warped and need replacing. In some cases, rotors can be resurfaced to save money. Lastly, your anti-lock braking system (ABS) warning lights will indicate when you're running low on brake fluid, or that there may be a leak somewhere in your brake lines.
The Pro-Cut process will return your brakes to ex-factory condition. The process matches the disc to the hub. In other words, if there is the slightest run-out in the hub (i.e. it doesn't rotate in a perfectly true way), the Pro-Cut process will take care of this and correct it by automatically compensating for it.
